I haven't blogged in a while, and I knew this would happen... My blog slowly dying that is, and I don't want to say this is an attempt to bring it back to life, because it's hardly going to do that, but hey, atleast I'm trying...

So below are two recent logos I did... The first one (Third Rock Comics & Collectibles) is basically just a stylized sun and planet Earth. I think it looked pretty cool!

The second one (Rave Bee) was for a cfl light bulb company. I thought he looked pretty sweet! lol.

Also, I just want to recommend this movie below (Super) for anybody who hasn't seen it... It was really funny and weird:

DUNGEON DRAGON

Seemed relivent to post this track I did a few weeks back
- seeing as I previously showed my Dragon Slayer work...

GOTHIC SCHOOL GIRL...

Recently completed this logo title for Rich Henn - it will be used as a display poster for his booth in SDCC 2011, which was pretty sweet I thought. It will also be published on the back cover to his new comic. It will technically be my first comic book work.

Although technically not, as I did this for Sara Richards for her upcoming project 'Paleo-Femmes' before the 'Gothic School Girl Dragon Slayer Zombie Hunter' comic work:

ICE CBE & WC LIVE!

A few days ago, a friend of mine gave me Guest List tickets to see Ice Cube, so naturally, I came along. I had a feeling WC would tag along, so it was no surprise that I met with him before the show... Anyways, I got a few pictures of him performing, and a picture of myself and WC, and it seemed right to show them here (click read more to view them).

MIKE DECARLO CGC SS SKETCH COVER

I had the chance to get on a CGC SS opportunity with Mike Decarlo last month, via NSN Art. Today I had this pop up in my e-mail. I think it's awesome! If you're unaware; Decarlo inked a fair few early War Machine comics, when the character was first introduced to the Marvel universe, but nowadays, he works more on Disney projects and most famously The Simpsons title.

CHARLIE ADLARD & TONY MOORE: MICHONEE

So in my previous blog, I showed a sketch cover that a friend of mine helped me to get @ Planet Kansas by Tony Moore. Well, recently... I was able to get one by Charlie Adlard to match it... It's currently at CGC being slabbed, but I had it done on the same sketch cover so that they would fit together nicely... Here they are together:

TAKING IT BACK: FONZO LOGO!

Haven't done a graff-type logo for a while but recently had the chance to create something for my guy (Fonzo), I wanted it simple enough to read right off, but still look fly, his new album Dream Big is coming soon. Check it out below:

DYNAMIC MARKETING LOGO DESIGN

I feel a bit weird and as if I'm talking to myself when I post these sort of blogs, but I just wanted to share my latest logo design, which was for Dynamic Marketing, I wanted this to firstly be dynamic in design, I was really happy with how three dimensional it turned out, which off course was intentional - I love the way the 'Y' forms the 'D'.

I wanted a logo that would be iconic, and memorable, but also to be professional, so here it is:

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Just got word that the Captain America poster is out, which can be seen below:

Not sure if you saw the poster Marvel artist Paolo Rivera recently created, but it can be seen below - unfortunately isn't being reproduced/printed - which sucks! But it's definitely worth a look.

Rivera said, "The prints, limited to 100 or so, were reproduced at actual size. Even Stan Lee got one! I was given access to a vast collection of production stills—each emblazoned with a watermark pattern of my name—from which I selected my favorites. All of the lettering is hand-drawn, with the exception of the small credits at the top and bottom (I ran out of steam). While I did some post-production work in Photoshop, the original looks more or less like what you see here. You’ll have to wait until I finish Daredevil #3 before I share some of the behind-the-scenes material, but the “Hitler getting punched” reference will be well worth the wait."

I just got back from seeing the Thor movie in the cinema (second time seeing it), and I would go as far as to say it's in my top 5 favourite Marvel movies EVER!

The comic to the left is a comic I purchased yesterday in hopes of getting Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) to sign at SDCC, 2011. It's by my favourite artist Ariel Olivetti, and I love the mood that the cover depicts.

That is all.

Tales of the Crypt: Demon Knight

This is a classic scene from one of my favourite horror movies (Demon Knight). I remember seeing this when I was younger on TV late one night and really enjoyed it. Billy Zane did a great job as the devil/demon character.

I totally forgot that Gravediggaz (1-800 Suicide) was the music on this scene with Jada Pinkett Smith, but it works so well. I also found out today that the same director (Ernest R. Dickerson) who directed this movie (Demon Knight) also directed my favourite Tupac Shakur movie (Juice). Classics!

FACT: I'm currently nerding out and trying to get a Tales of The Crypt
(Demon Knight) magazine signed and CGC SS by Billy Zane.

I Like!

I just wanted to share a logo I created yesterday for media company 'I like'.

Basically, the concept was for the e to form an arrow shape with the k in 'like', and create a path for the eye to also function as a speech bubble. I think it worked very nicely, and looked friendly and fun, yet retaining it's professionalism.

TIM TOWNSEND | CGC SS SKETCH COVER!

I got on a sketch opportunity with Tim Townsend (who is probably my favourite modern inker) through Jake (Mercenary Art Studio). He showed a sample of what the sketches will look like, and it was a pretty solid piece (pictured to the left), so I was very excited to get on this sketch list, off course.

Today Jake showed me my finished commissioned piece, and I totally love it! I asked for a 'Retro Iron Man' - the reason being is because I saw a piece he did with Chris Stevens and I thought it was brilliant.

...So without further ado... I present to you, my Tim Towsend, Iron Man sketch cover!!

I responded to Tim and said "Tim... I am totally loving this sketch cover! WOW! It's better than I ever imagined it being. Totally made my day. Thanks so much Jake and Tim!"...

Tim's reply was, "And YOU totally made MINE! Im thrilled to hear you like it. You might get a kick out of knowing that this piece pretty much directed me as opposed to the other way around. This cover stock had some sort of coating on it that made it highly resistant to the ink. At one point it had a ton of black finger prints all over it. This is why I opted with the black backdrop. THEN I had to end up using the Kirby-crackles outside the black backdrop to cover up even MORE finger prints. Lol. It just kept going and going. Its kind of fun though, when you end up with something you hadnt set out to do. Again, Im glad you like!".

Again - Thanks Tim! I love it.

Tony Moore | CGC SS Sketch Cover!

I got a picture of this in my e-mail today from a friend of mine (Doug) who helped me to obtain this @ Planet Kansas Comic Con, 2011

It is very hard to get on Tony Moore's commission list, and what's cooler is that I was able to get it CGC SS

Basically... at shows, he does a lottery and I believe it is something like 5 people who get picked to get on his commission list. A friend was lucky enough to win twice (with thanks also to Doug's brother) so I got SUPER lucky!

Anyways, enough talking... Pictured to the left is my sketch of Michonne by Walking Dead creator Tony Moore! (click image to enlarge).
